THE OPPORTUNITY:

Australia's largest public museum organisation is seeking a Legacy Registration Officer, Sciences Collections to physically and electronically register minimum data sets of selected Natural Sciences components of the State Collection. Electronic registration will include a barcode and where appropriate an image of each item.

Working alongside the Manager, Natural Sciences Collections, key duties of this role include:

  1. Physical registration of selected Natural Sciences specimens in the State Collection, adhering to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
  2. Electronic registration of defined basic data sets for selected Natural Sciences specimens in the State Collection, adhering to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
  3. Application of a barcode and where appropriate electronic image capture and associated data of Natural Sciences specimens, adhering to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
  4. Handle selected Natural Sciences specimens in the State Collection, adhering to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
  5. Consult with relevant curators and collection managers to capture accurate basic data for selected Natural Sciences specimens of the State Collection.

OTHER INFORMATION:

This role is a full-time, fixed-term position until 30 June 2021. The salary on offer is $52,493 per annum; paid pro-rata (Base of grade) plus 9.5% superannuation.
