The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate’s employment at the University. The University recently temporarily varied its Enterprise Agreement. Please be advised that the salary range, along with other conditions associated with this position, may change in accordance with the variation to the Enterprise Agreement.

Full-time, continuing position available

The Faculty Office acts to support the learning and teaching, research and business operations of its four Schools and other Centres and Institutes on the North Terrace, Waite and Roseworthy Campuses.

Working under limited direction, the Heath, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor is responsible for providing HSW services, support, advice and coordination that assists with ensuring the ongoing safety of Sciences’ staff, student and visitors, in compliance with all relevant government legislation and The University’s HSW Handbook. The position is responsible for incident investigation, contributing to a program of workplace monitoring and the provision of general hazard management advice throughout the Faculty of Sciences. The HSW Advisor also supports the implementation of consistent safety processes across the Faculty and its Schools, and contribute to the continual improvement of HSW outcomes across Sciences as part of the Sciences HSW team.

The successful applicant must be willing and able to engage in frequent travel between our North Terrace, Waite and Roseworthy campuses.

To Be Successful You Will Need

  • Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety processes, management systems, relevant legislation and Hazard Management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing significant HSW risk across a large and complex business unit.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and prepare quality HSW-related material and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
  • Sound communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with demonstrated ability to collaboratively interact with a broad range of people.
