About the role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and skilled Training Coordinator to join our team. The purpose of the role is to coordinate accredited and non-accredited VET programs delivered by the College. This will involve managing the delivery of Adult & Community Education, Smart & Skilled funded training programs as well as fee for service courses across a variety of industry areas.

You will be responsible for:

  • Timetabling and scheduling classes and trainers.
  • Development of new courses.
  • Providing supervision and direction to the RTO Admin Staff, and RTO trainers.
  • Monitoring course enrolment data to identify high and low performing programs.
  • Liaising with trainers to determine needs for course delivery.
  • Interpreting and applying current training packages.
  • Developing Training and Assessment Strategies and Training Plans.
  • Analysing course confirmations and cancellations. 
  • Coaching and performance managing staff in line with legislation, agreed expectations and other relevant company HR policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to the running of education programs and the RTO Continuous Improvement System framework.
  • Assisting with the coordination of compliance activities and continuous improvement cycle.
  • Adhering to compliance with ASQA, RTO National Standards and company policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring information streams to ensure the RTO stays abreast of legislative changes to relevant regulations and standards and all compliance activities.
  • Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of best practices and procedures for RTO and key industries.

Travel between our campuses will be required with the delivery of training provided in the Newcastle, Hunter Valley & Central Coast regions.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have and can demonstrate:

  • Relevant business, education, management qualification or equivalent experience
  • 2 years’ experience in at least one of the following functions is essential:
    • Project Management, Sales or Business Development
    • Successful training program management experience within an RTO, Employment Services Provider, GTO or similar organisation
  • Successful experience managing the delivery of projects/programs within an RTO, Employment Services Provider, GTO or similar service-based organisation.
  • Research and analytical skills to identify opportunities in the labour market.
  • Communication skills compatible with establishing and maintaining constructive relationships with people who may be facing barriers to employment.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Outcomes focus with a drive to deliver.
  • Professional approach to work including communications, personal presentation and interpersonal relations.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and delegate.
  • Flexible, adaptable and resilient nature. 
  • Superior interpersonal skills including influencing and negotiation.
  • Initiative, drive and natural leadership and coordination.
  • Current Driver’s license
