The Centre for Aboriginal Studies (CAS) is an Indigenous-managed research and education centre that contributes to positive social change for Aboriginal Australians. We offer undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses, and also provide an empowering and supportive base for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying any course at Curtin.

Your new role

We have a brand-new opportunity for a professional and proactive individual to provide high-level administration and PA support to the Director of Centre for Aboriginal Studies.

As an experienced PA, you will:
Provide executive support to the Director of Centre for Aboriginal Studies including diary management, scheduling meetings, drafting documentation, and assisting with financial transactions.
Act as the first point of contact, welcoming visitors and internal/external clients of the area.
Coordinate travel arrangements in relation to programs and other events.
Provide high-level secretarial support for ad hoc committees and working parties, including organising agendas, reports and taking minutes.
Respond to incoming enquiries and requests from internal and external stakeholders in a proactive, accurate, customer-focused and professional manner.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to support the executive.

We are looking for someone with…

A relevant tertiary qualification and extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Strong experience in providing exceptional administrative/executive support.
Demonstrated ability to uphold and maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion as required.
Outstanding oral communication skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people in a clear and professional manner, with cross cultural sensitivity.
Proven ability to organise time and work activities according to priorities and to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated computer literacy with skills in in a wide range of applications including word processing and/or spreadsheet packages and email.
A quick thinker with the ability to apply initiative and problem-solving skills to a variety of situations.
Previous experience within the higher education sector (desirable)
Experience in using board effect (desirable)
