Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure student-facing policies are accurate, up-to-date and consistently written.

We are a new world university. Like our namesake, Charles Darwin, we think differently. We innovate, embrace change, challenge conventions and look for better ways. We’re not about tradition or legacy, privilege or exclusivity. We care about people as individuals, and about our wider society. We’re about what we can give to the world, rather than what we take. We cannot build a new world without diversity of thought, so we bring together people with unique perspectives in an inclusive and supporting learning environment to help them connect, discover and grow. This is the CDU difference.

As Coordinator Student Policy, you will be responsible for the continuous improvement of student-facing policies, working to ensure policies are accurate, up-to-date, easy to understand, comprehensive, consistently written and also meet relevant legislation and regulatory standards. Collaborating with colleagues across the University, you will ensure smooth end-to-end processes for policy review and revision, producing consistent outcomes across sectors, colleges and campus locations.

A talented communicator, your highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills will facilitate productive stakeholder relationships and will ensure policy owners are provided sufficient training, enabling them to fulfil their obligations in a timely manner. Written communication is also of the utmost importance, as is a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

To be successful, you will hold a relevant undergraduate qualification and experience in a policy-writing role with demonstrated experience in aspects of policy writing such as conceptualising policy needs, liaison with stakeholders, policy drafting, policy governance and regular cycles of policy revision. Proficiency across a range of administrative systems and platforms will be advantageous.
