Provide project management support for initiatives designed to promote a respectful and inclusive community at CDU.

We are a new world university. Like our namesake, Charles Darwin, we think differently. We innovate, embrace change, challenge conventions and look for better ways. We’re not about tradition or legacy, privilege or exclusivity. We care about people as individuals, and about our wider society. We’re about what we can give to the world, rather than what we take. We cannot build a new world without diversity of thought, so we bring together people with unique perspectives in an inclusive and supporting learning environment to help them connect, discover and grow. This is the CDU difference.

As Safer Communities Project Officer, you will provide project support to the development of the Safer Communities program at Charles Darwin University (CDU) to promote a respectful and inclusive community. This will comprise a range of projects to improve the safety of staff and students on-campus and online resulting in improvements to the overall student experience. This position will also take responsibility for delivering initiatives to eliminate sexual assault and sexual violence via the Respect.Now.Always. campaign.

Essential to this role is your ability to exercise initiative and maintain confidentiality, with highly developed organisation and communication skills and the capacity to work flexibly within a challenging environment.

To be successful, you will hold a degree level qualification with subsequent relevant experience in an operational role, with demonstrated ability to consult and develop a framework that leads the Safer Community initiative at CDU. Experience working in a community development setting in areas such as the prevention of sexual assault, harassment or sexual violence and a history of project management will be highly regarded.
