The Komatsu Training Academy (KTA) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) specifically developed to assist our construction, quarry and mining customers by delivering nationally recognised and customised training where you need it – online, on-site, at customers’ premises or at our own dedicated training facilities.
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for a Training Assistant to join the People & Strategy team based at our dedicated training facility in Sherwood, QLD. Reporting into the National Training Manager, the Training Assistant will be responsible for driving our 21-seater bus to provide transport to and from Sherwood & Brisbane Airport and ensuring a high level of confidentiality and cleanliness at all times.
This role is ideal for an all-rounder that holds an MR licence who can take ownership and has the initiative to do what’s needed to be done around and in the training facility, ranging from sweeping floors, general tidiness, supervising apprentices under the guidance of the Senior Trainer, moving construction sized Dozers and excavators for training purposes to arranging quotes for training aids..
Key Responsibilities
- Drive 21-seater bus to and from Sherwood and Brisbane Airport
- Ensure cleanliness of bus is consistently maintained
- Keeping bus up to date with required maintenance, i.e - Servicing/inspections
- Personal appearance must always be well presented
- High level of confidentiality is adhered to
- Setup and pack away tools and conduct inventory checks with the master inventory list
- Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure the required tooling and training aids are available to deliver training on time
- Design, upgrade and develop training aids in line with KTA standards
- General cleanliness, maintenance & presentation of the Sherwood facility is maintained
- As directed organise quotes for the training facility in a timely manner
- Be able to supervise students when required
- Must hold a MR licence
- Must hold a LO licence
- Be physically fit
- Basic Microsoft Office understanding
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
- Have a positive attitude who takes pride in their work
- Previous mechanical, welding and fabricating skills highly regarded
- Past trade experience would be desirable
