St Francis of Assisi Primary is a Catholic primary school catering for boys and girls from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are committed to offering stimulating and rewarding learning experiences for each of our 380 plus students.

About the opportunity:

Our curriculum is rich and diverse and we offer learning spaces designed for the 21st century learner. We are offering a temporary intensive learning/high support needs teaching opportunity commencing term 2. You will work alongside a passionate and supportive team committed to achieving positive learning outcomes for each student. More specifically you will:

  • Structure lessons to meet the physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of your students
  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive and challenging learning environment and implement fair and equitable behaviour management plans
  • Evaluate all aspects of your teaching practice to ensure you are meeting the learning needs of each student
  • Interpret and use student assessment data to diagnose barriers to learning and to challenge students to improve their performance
  • Effectively manage the learning cycle, including planning for learning and assessment, developing learning programs, teaching, assessing, providing feedback on student learning and reporting to parents/carers
  • Engage with our school communities within and beyond the classroom to enrich the educational context for students and work to promote the links between school, home and community in the social and intellectual development of your students

About you:

To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment to the core purpose and values of CEDP along with:

  • A deep understanding of contemporary pedagogical approaches for primary years learners
  • Extensive knowledge of the content and sequence of Key Learning Areas
  • Knowledge and implementation of a variety of online and multimedia programs to support student learning
  • A demonstrated understanding of what constitutes effective, developmentally appropriate strategies in learning and teaching programs
  • Ability to make content meaningful to students
  • Preferred experience in teaching classes within Stages 1and 2
  • A commitment to work with and within a collaborative team environment
  • A passion for transformational education, integrated into curriculum and delivered in a faith-based environment
  • Well-developed communication, administration and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to learn and a commitment to your own professional development
  • Demonstrated passion for transforming the lives of young learners

Qualifications and accreditations:

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children
  • Check clearance
  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
  • Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)
  • Statements of Service
