U@MQ Limited ( Campus Life ) is the student services organisation at Macquarie University which exists to deliver a range of innovative services and programs to ensure a sustainable campus environment for currently over 37,000 students and staff. Our service and facilities include the provision of food, retail, sport and recreation facilities and services, clubs, societies, child care and a wide variety of events and entertainment.

Located within the grounds of Macquarie University are Banksia Cottage, Gumnut Cottage and Waratah Cottage. Our centres provide safe, healthy, sustainable and nurturing environments in which children are an able to develop to their full potential. Our play based programs incorporate current research and reflect the applicable Framework to the service – Belonging, Being, Becoming and My Time, Our Place . We provide excellent working conditions including low staff:child ratios and strive to be at the forefront of early and middle childhood education.

We are currently seeking to increase our pool of casual Educators to work across our three Centres. We are looking for candidates with either Certificate III or Diploma in Children’s Services qualifications.

Key Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Contribute to a high quality program, reflective of children’s interests and best practice
  • Maintain confidentiality of families, staff and children
  • Provide effective supervision of children
  • Work effectively with the Campus Life Children’s Services teams

The successful candidate will require:

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Children’s Services (or equivalent)
  • Current Working with Children Check stating approved to work with children
  • Previous experience working with children
  • Sound understanding of the National Quality Standards
  • Sound understanding of the National Regulations
  • Capacity and willingness to work a range of shifts at short notice
  • Demonstrated commitment to the corporate values of Campus Life
  • Current Senior First Aid
  • Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate
  • Approved Child Protection qualification
