Lead the delivery of educational programs and provide support to the Junior Science Academy Coordinators.


Campus Life, within Macquarie University, is currently seeking Casual Educators for our fun and exciting Junior Science Academy holiday program.

At the Junior Science Academy, pre- and primary-school age children explore the world in a new light through engaging and interactive experiences in our School Holiday program. Think space, dinosaurs, explosions, medicine, rocks and more. Developed by experts and delivered by teachers, the program is aligned with the NSW Science and Technology Syllabus.

As a Junior Science Academy Educator, you will lead the delivery of educational programs and provide support to the Junior Science Academy Coordinators. Your responsibilities will include mentoring and coaching our student teachers, ensuring resources and equipment are prepared for lessons and appropriately packed away and providing administration support for the effective operation of the program.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Education or related discipline (or in progress)
  • Demonstrated interest in teaching STEM (prior experience will be highly regarded)
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively and appropriately liaise with people from diverse groups and backgrounds
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Current Anaphylaxis qualifications
  • Working with Children Check
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Child Protection and safety principles and willingness to abide by these


  • Current First Aid qualifications
  • Experience working in an education setting or recreational children’s program
  • Experience with the development of science programs in a school environment
  • Understanding of the NSW Education syllabus
