THE ROLE

  • Salary Package: From $ 69,152 to $ 74,531 (HEW Level 4 ), plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading

  • Appointment Type: 1 x fixed term ( 24 months) , full time.

  • Location: North Ryde, Macquarie Park

The Walanga Muru Community is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative and project support to Walanga Muru and its activities .

This role is a Pathways opportunity and will provide the successful applicant with the training, mentoring and skill development require d for future roles in tertiary administration and other professional career paths.

Reporting to the Project Officer , y ou will prepare promotional materials, support the coordination of events including cultural workshops and activities, and provide administrative support including assistance with finance and budget processes . You will greet visitors, responding to student enquiries and monitor office supplies.

About You

As an Administration Assistant you will be focused on the student experience, building rapport and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, students and community . You will have a deep connectedness with Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander cultures , openness and understanding.

As the successful candidate , you will have a customer service focus and strong communication skills . Y ou will have a high degree of accuracy when completing tasks and enjoy working as part of a team and making a positive impression on others .

  • Demonstrated experience in customer service and/or administration support

  • Tertiary qualification (or working towards)

  • Demonstrated e xperience with Microsoft Office and the use of databases

  • Proven ability to work in collaboration with others

  • Proven ability to juggle competing tasks

  • Awareness of cultural/ Indigenous communication styles across a variety of mediums

  • Demonstrated experience with financial administration including credit card conciliation and processing of invoices.
