PRIMARY DETAIL

Fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and proven senior officer to manage and contribute to the development of educational programs and supporting strategic initiatives for the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences.

THE ROLE

  • Salary Package: From $95,866 - $103,939 p.a. (HEW level 7), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Appointment Type: Full time, fixed term parental leave replacement for 12 months
  • Macquarie University (North Ryde) location

The Role

The Education Program Officer will support the educational mission of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences through the development and implementation of projects and initiatives, leadership of components of accreditation, coordination of complex educational events and support of the operational delivery of the Faculty’s Educational Services portfolio.

Key accountabilities of the role are to:

In collaboration with the Director of Educational Services

  • Lead key components of the accreditation/reaccreditation processes for the Faculty’s education courses.
  • Manage the scoping, development, approval and implementation of new educational courses and units, and the review and redevelopment of existing educational courses and units.
  • Support the implementation of specific academic and education projects and complex events for the Faculty.
  • Support the development of organisational strategy and operating plans for the Educational Services portfolio.
  • Undertake research, analyse data and prepare detailed reports, plans advice and recommendations for consideration.
  • Provide high-level assistance to the Deputy Dean and Associate Dean, Learning and Teaching, the Director of Educational Services and other team members, including advice, identification of process improvements and document preparation.
  • Supervise a small team and work with the Education Administration Coordinator to develop and maintain a collaborative and customer focused service culture for the Educational Services team.
  • Provide high-level co-ordination and facilitation of program documents including drafting papers and reports for Faculty Executive and University committees.
  • Develop key relationships and consult with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and make recommendations to inform decision making.

About You

You will have demonstrated experience working in higher educaiton environment including the supprt of professional accreadiaton processes and ability to develop and implement projects. Well-organised, responsive and supportive, your success in the role will be shown in how you troubleshoot through matters that arise with enthusiasm, resilience and flexibility to adapt. You will be a good critical thinker with a solution-focussed approach to work. Previous experience working in the higher education sector will be highly regarded.

Selection Criteria:

  • tertiary qualifications in education, governance or project-management, and/or extensive relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the higher education sector including an awareness of University operational structures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple, complex bodies of work simultaneously; autonomously and within a team-based setting.
  • Analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesise information into reports and executive briefing papers.
  • Building and maintaining influential and effective relationships with academic staff, clinicians, medical educators and/or external regulators.
