About the Role

We are currently recruiting an Education Officer to join our Education and Community Outreach Team in a permanent full-time capacity. Reporting to the Education and Training Manager, you will play a key role in developing and delivering education and learning programs that initiate and support attitudinal and behavioural change, in order to advance the prevention of cruelty to animals and improve animal welfare outcomes within the community.

This role will attract a salary of $81,450 p.a. (inclusive of superannuation at 9.5%).


Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Education and Training Manager, you will:

  • Develop, deliver and evaluate education and learning programs that initiate and support attitudinal and behavioural change, in order to advance the prevention of cruelty to animals and improve animal welfare outcomes within the community.
  • Provide a quality learning environment for students by using a variety of styles to deliver tailored programs, ensuring delivery techniques and approaches accommodate a diverse range of participants.
  • Identify and share opportunities for improvement by ensuring ongoing monitoring and review of education resources and programs.
  • When engaging with Education animals, ensure their welfare is paramount at all times, and in particular ensure all applicable policies and ethics framework requirements for the use and management of Education animals are followed.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment by effectively communicating and working collaboratively with peers across all departments, and consistently behaving in accordance with the RSPCA Victoria values and associated policies.


What we are looking for from you

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Teaching/Education and/or relevant field.
  • Cert IV TAE or willingness to gain this qualification within the first 6 months of employment
  • Animal related study and/or experience
  • Valid Victorian Driver’s License
  • Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History check
  • Working with children check
  • Current Tetanus vaccination
