Assessments Australia, a MAX Solutions company, is looking for fully registered Psychologists and Speech Pathologists to join our team performing in-school disability assessments.

Ideally you will have a background in conducting standardised assessments of children with disabilities in school education, have considerable knowledge of the education context. The work would fit in with your other work commitments or complement other part time work you may have.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for these roles you must have an appropriate Australian or New Zealand work visa. The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience and capabilities:

  • Psychologist with General Registration status with AHPRA who is eligible for Practising Membership with the Australian Psychological Society
  • Ideally, a minimum of 12 months comprehensive experience conducting standardised assessments
  • Highly experienced in working with children, adolescents and their families within the education sector
  • Exhibit strong reporting skills (quality and efficiency)
  • Thorough, with excellent attention to detail in regards to reporting of results and report writing
  • Strong assessment skills (critical thinking, gathering / analysing / synthesising information)
  • Proven IT literacy, particularly in common applications including Microsoft Office Word, email and web usage
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong administrative, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Candidates are required to have their own assessment tool/s (i.e. WISC-V and/or WPPSI-IV as from 2018) or have ready access to the same via their own networks
  • Candidates must not currently work for DET but if on extended leave from the department and have written approval to engage with Assessments Australia as a Contract Assessor then we can consider an application

Training

Comprehensive training in the program and report requirements will be provided, as well as induction and ongoing Professional Development (PD) days. The training and PD days provided will add to your annual professional development requirements for the Psychology Board of Australia.

The assessments are in the category of Intellectual Disability (ID) and Severe Language Disorder with Critical Educational Needs (SLD-CEN) including Childhood Apraxia of Speech.
