We are seeking candidates for a Curriculum Coordinator/Teacher position at a NEW SCHOOL OPENING early May 2021, in a suburb West of Brisbane.

This is a wonderfully unique school that caters specifically for students in Year 11 and 12 who have disengaged in a mainstream school setting. Class sizes will be small, with a maximum of 14 students per class.

The primary duties of Curriculum Coordinator/Teacher will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Develop, plan, implement and evaluate curriculum and teaching plans with lessons designed to meet the educational standards of the School;

  • Conduct research and consult with key collaborators for the purpose of curriculum development;

  • Use evaluations and data to make recommendations for how to improve and edit existing curricula on an annual basis;

  • Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress, attainment and behaviour of the students;

  • Providing guidance and advice to students on educational and social matters and on their further education and future careers; providing information on sources of more expert advice;

  • Communicating, consulting and co-operating with other members of the school staff, including those having posts of special responsibility and parents/guardians to ensure the best interest of students;

  • Ensuring high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching and learning of the subject/s;

  • Developing and implementing the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) and Senior Education Training Plan (SET) of all students and participating in IEP and SET Plan meetings

  • A very genuine interest in the well being of students and fostering an environment of respect and safety

You will be required to have the following:

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Education, with current teaching registration in Queensland;
