Your new company
This professional peak body in the NSW education sector represents its schools and their owners to the media, government and other education sector stakeholders. It acts as the overarching entity for the purposes of advancing education in its schools, ensuring they meet compliance requirements and can measure their activities in maximizing the education outcomes of students. Employees provide advice to government and schools on a full range of educational policy and compliance drivers impacting contemporary NSW schooling. Resources policy impacts on the operation of schools in political, demographic, and social-economic contexts.

Your new role

  • Strategic leadership of resources and stewardship policy
  • Providing accountability of recurrent funding to school
  • Policy development in relation to resources and stewardship
  • Developing strategic responses to government proposals and initiatives
  • Monitoring compliance for the operation of recurrent programs
  • Determining legal, regulatory and contractual arrangements with government
  • Providing strategic advice and reports to CEO and Board Committees
  • Preparing background and briefing papers and policy documents
  • Negotiating with government agencies and statutory authorities
  • Liaising with school authorities and religious institutes
  • Modelling of government recurrent grants received
  • Statutory reporting to commonwealth and state governments
  • Implementing risk management strategies
  • Developing guidelines for the management of recurrent programs


What you'll need to succeed

  • Detailed understanding of risk management, assurance, audit and compliance
  • Proven expertise in developing and analysing strategy
  • Experience delivering strategic plans, initiatives and projects
  • Experience working with government regulators in the education sector
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse data to develop evidenced based outcomes
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Superior ability to engage with complex, diverse stakeholders
  • Proven commercial acumen with senior executive experience
  • Relevant experience with government and non-government schools
  • Understanding of resources policy impacting on the operation of schools
  • Advanced academic qualifications in economics, business or finance
