A qualification in Early Years is essential.
The Child Family Centre has a strong focus on oral language and early literacy and numeracy acquisition. A demonstrated understanding of effective teaching and learning in the early years aligned to the Early Years Framework is a requirement. The successful applicant will be required to provide a strong culturally responsive program that encourages and enhances regular attendance of children. The teacher works closely with Anangu Educators and the ability to build strong relationships with children, families and community is vital. The teacher will be proactive in promoting children's health needs and work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure the health and wellbeing of children. The ability to work as both an individual and as a member of a team is essential.
To ensure employer compliance of duty of care responsibilities given the unique environment of the APY Lands, a wellness check will be conducted for any teacher nominated for this position and prior to any offer of employment. Housing is provided but there is a possibility that shared housing may be required.
Please note that part time and flexible arrangements will be considered.
