The Opportunity

A great opportunity has arisen for an individual who is passionate about creating high-performing communications strategies and sharing the stories of the University in the role of Group Manager, Communications. Providing support to the Director, Communications, this role is responsible for bringing to life the University's communications content in order to create news, manage issues and build our reputation in a proactive, strategic and impactful way.

As a member of the senior management team in SMC, your role will comprise:
  • Conceptualising, developing and delivering on high level content and communications strategies
  • Consulting and liaising with key senior stakeholders across the University to ensure positive reputation management
  • Providing oversight on crisis and issues management as well as the implementation of communications plans
  • Leading, guiding and supporting the communications function within SMC to ensure excellence is achieved
This role is well suited to an individual with proven high-level experience and demonstrated success within the disciplines of content, communications, marketing and/or media. As you will be driving the communications strategies of a leading global University, you will need to demonstrate an exceptional understanding of marketing and communications plans and how these can translate into positive exposure across multiple channels. You will utilise your strong interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills to develop and leverage a network of contacts both internally and externally to ensure your success in this role.
