Faculty of Business, Economics & Law

The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL) incorporates three schools - UQ Business School, the School of Economics and the Law School - and two research centres - the Australian Institute for Business and Economics (AIBE) and the Centre for the Business and Economics of Health (CBEH).

About This Opportunity

As the Career Services Advisor, you will manage and deliver a portfolio of career services and employability activities for students in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL). This includes virtual events, online resources, workshops and co-curricular work experience placements and programs. You will stay up to date on student employability markets and develop marketing content for print, online and social media platforms. You will develop and maintain connections with students, staff and external stakeholders including industry professionals, employers and alumni. This position works in partnership with other Faculty professional functions and UQ’s Student Enrichment and Employability Development Team.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment - you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

You will have qualifications and training equivalent to an undergraduate degree in business, economics, law, human resources or another relevant field and experience delivering training programs, career and employability development or virtual student engagement initiatives. You will have the ability to design engaging learning experience, policy and marketing material, and have a sound knowledge of university degree structures, employment trends, recruitment strategies and their implications for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The ability to work autonomously and flexibly within a team environment to manage workflow, coordinate projects and programs, improve processes, and achieve objectives, to ensure individual, organisational and unit goals are met is essential.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time continuing position at HEW level 6.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $80,784.26 - $86,768.42 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $94,517.58 - $101,519.05.
