An exciting opportunity exists to drive innovation and reform in Victoria's senior secondary provision and pathways support including vocational and applied learning with the intended outcome to provide all young people access to training that engages them, delivers high demand skills and leads to quality jobs.

This advertisement relates to one role available fixed term until 30 June 2022. The role will be based in DET's Outer Gippsland Area.

An exciting opportunity exists to drive innovation and reform in Victoria's senior secondary provision and pathways support including vocational and applied learning with the intended outcome to provide all young people access to training that engages them, delivers high demand skills and leads to quality jobs.

The Jobs, Skills and Pathways Manager (JSP Manager) role is a new role created in each of the 17 Department of Education and Training Areas to support existing activities and new reforms to senior secondary provision and vocational and applied learning pathways for school aged students. The role will work with multi-disciplinary teams at the Area and Regional level to strengthen the vocational and applied learning pathways offered within schools and lead place-based support to school based staff including Careers Education initiatives, Head Start, VET delivery and funding initiatives and VCAL and VCE support.

This strategic leadership role includes working in partnership with key stakeholders at the local level to build the sustainability of local engagement with industry, employers, Local Learning and Employment Networks (LLENs), TAFE and other registered training providers, higher education providers, Group Training Organisations and non-school senior secondary providers.

This role will have an office base in Sale but involve working across the Outer Gippsland region to meet with key stakeholders. This will require driving and may require overnight stays in order to access remote schools.
