About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a statistical or psychometric analyst to help make a concrete difference to the lives of children and young people. In this role you will be responsible for undertaking complex analysis and the provision of accurate and timely statistical advicew to support senior officers.

The analysis you are involved in will be used to shape education programs and policies within the department and will contribute to schools understanding the progress of students in key areas of the curriculum.

  1. Provide an example of a statistical/psychometric analysis you have carried out in the past year. What models and techniques did you use, what were the major findings, and how did you communicate these findings to stakeholders (300 words maximum)
  2. Describe a significant project you have managed. How did you plan the project, manage stakeholders/other team members, and overcome challenges to achieve the project goals? (300 words maximum)

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Education Measurement or related disciplines
  • Experience in using at least one specialised statistical or psychometric software (such as Stata, R, RUMM) for advanced statistical or psychometric analysis
  • Valid Working With Children Check clearance for paid employment
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
  • Expereince in Psychometric analysis is not essential but is highly desirable
