6 month contract with 6 month extension
Work to strengthen the quality of the training system for Australians
Central location with modern new offices
THE ORGANISATION

Our Client is responsible for national policies and programs that help Australians access quality early childhood education, school education, higher education, vocational education and training, international education and research.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 APS5 Project Officers to work in our client’s policy and regulation team. In this team you will be able to work on the implementation of quality reforms agreed by the National Cabinet, to strengthen the quality Australia’s training systems.

THE ROLE

At the APS5 level you will be responsible for:
Provide secretariat support for a skills senior officials network working group
Reporting on the progress of reform implementation
Preparing meeting and agenda papers for a range of committees
Procurement and contract management for a range of consultancies and research projects
Undertaking project planning and maintaining links with other areas of the department
Drafting ministerial correspondence that relate to training and assessment issues
assist and support the policy work of the team through undertaking research and drafting papers.
YOUR BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you must have experience working within the APS in a project or program support position. You will also require the following capabilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational and project management skills
The ability to respond flexibly to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment and deliver high quality results, including the ability to build relationships and liaise with colleagues across the branch to complete work tasks
Ability to work productively as a member of a team and exercise judgement

Australian citizenship required and ability to obtain a baseline security clearance

Salary / Rate

APS5: $48-$55/hr + 9.5% super
