Lecturer in Agribusiness

Full time, fixed term 5-year appointment from October 2021
Based in Burnie, Launceston, Hobart
Join the Discipline of Agriculture and Food Systems (AFS) and the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA) in an education and training-based position.

The Opportunity

The Lecturer in Agribusiness will play a key role in the expansion and implementation of a global training course in partnership with Wageningen University, Lincoln University, and Hort Innovation. This exciting role offers the overseeing, refinement, and delivery of the Masterclass in Agribusiness.

Key Accountabilities:
Undertake teaching and training in the discipline of Agribusiness relevant to agricultural production systems.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive throughout the University and wider community.
Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University’s achievement of strategic objectives.
Lead the quality improvement of teaching programs in response to evaluations of student learning.
Provide well-informed advice through publications, technical reports and presentations.

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
Outstanding communication skills.
Experience in teaching and/or industry training.
A broad understanding of agribusiness that supports sustainable local and national primary industries.
Commitment to applied research in learning and teaching that underpins business and primary industry development.


Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $133,842 comprising base salary within the range of $98,537 to $114,395 plus 17% superannuation.
