JOB DESCRIPTION

The role of the Early Childhood Performance and Planning Advisor involves building strong partnerships with a range of early childhood stakeholders and service providers and supporting the sector to deliver quality programs within their local communities, particularly for more vulnerable children and families. The role will require high level interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills. You will also have early childhood experience or the ability to learn and develop knowledge of the early childhood sector.

An exciting opportunity exists to work as part of a new multidisciplinary, area-based team that is building the capabilities of early childhood service providers and focused on delivering improved outcomes for children in Outer Eastern Melbourne.

As an Early Childhood Performance and Planning Advisor, you will build partnerships with a range of service providers and develop the capacity of the early childhood sector to deliver quality programs within their local communities, particularly for more vulnerable children and families. The role will require high level interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.

The role will:

  • Support early childhood stakeholders including kindergartens, long day care centres and families with queries regarding 3 and 4 year old kindergarten and kindergarten funding;
  • Support the implementation of a range of early childhood initiatives, for example the Preschool Support Field Officer Program, Early Start Kindergarten and Access Early Learning; 
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Outer East Early Childhood Improvement Branch to meet joint objectives.
