Provide administrative support to the Northern Institute, with a focus on marketing, communications and events.

We are a new world university. Like our namesake, Charles Darwin, we think differently. We innovate, embrace change, challenge conventions and look for better ways. We’re not about tradition or legacy, privilege or exclusivity. We care about people as individuals, and about our wider society. We’re about what we can give to the world, rather than what we take. We cannot build a new world without diversity of thought, so we bring together people with unique perspectives in an inclusive and supporting learning environment to help them connect, discover and grow. This is the CDU difference.

The College of Indigenous Futures, Education and Arts is centred around people and cultures. The College delivers teaching across rich and diverse areas such as Humanities and Social Science; Indigenous Futures; Humanitarian, Emergency and Disaster Management; Creative Arts and Design; Education and Languages and Linguistics. Closely affiliated with the college is Northern Institute, which is a hub for research expertise, focusing on developing a deep understanding of people, policy and place.

As an Administration Officer you will provide support to researchers and research projects as well as developing and implementing Northern Institute’s research events, marketing and communications initiatives. Working under the guidance of the Partnerships Coordinator you’ll maintain and develop content for the Northern Institutes website and social media platforms as well as providing general administrative support such as booking meeting rooms and responding to general enquiries and requests.

To be successful you will have a relevant qualification at Advanced Diploma level with extensive relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education. Your high-level communication skills will enable you to foster positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and you’ll demonstrate excellent computer skills. Experience in managing events and posting social media content and website updates will be highly regarded, as will previous experience working in a University or Research Institute.
