The Centre

The Joey Club Brisbane located in Brisbane Airport QLD is a work-based long day care providing care and an educational program for the children of Qantas employees managed by us, KU Children's Services, one of Australia's leading providers of high-quality early childhood education.

The team at KU The Joey Club Brisbane work with children based on the belief that the early childhood years are of great significance in a young person's life and is the foundation in fostering the natural dispositions of children to become life-long learners.

The educators are a cohesive, stable, tight knit family, many of whom have been employed since the centre's conception. We are passionate about creating beautiful, thought-provoking spaces where children can imagine, create, explore and research the world around them.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher who values partnering with families, wants to join and help lead a passionate, capable and dedicated team. The ideal applicant will be a strong team player, flexible and can build and maintain positive relationships with children and families.

On offer is a 12-month parental leave contract until June 2022 and will see you working 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday accruing one monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO) and have access additional benefits including discounted health insurance, not for profit salary packaging, and additional paid leave.
We want you to be as passionate about early childhood education and as committed to achieving positive outcomes as we are.

In addition, you will have:

  • A current NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Work rights to enable you to work in Australia
  • A recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree level of qualification in Early Childhood or similar as approved by Australian Children's Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Teacher Accreditation through NESA
  • Completed training in Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011) and how they apply in your state
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
  • A current First Aid as approved by ACECQA including current approved Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills
