About the opportunity

We offer an interdisciplinary legal education with a diverse range of double degrees, and students gain extensive practical skills through mooting, negotiation, research and other skills-based learning opportunities.

The Griffith Law School (GLS) is seeking a Lecturer who has a demonstrated research track record in law and the capacity to teach core Priestly 11 content. The Lecturer will be highly committed to teaching excellence, a developing or established profile in research or scholarship, and will actively and effectively supervise honours and postgraduate research student projects. The primary focus of this role is to teach into at least one of the following areas; Contracts 1 & 2, Torts 1, Corporations and Associations, or Evidence. The Lecturer will also have capacity to develop an elective course relevant to their area of research, which adds positively to the quality range of electives currently available.

To be successful in this role requires collaboration with the GLS team, and external providers including members of the legal profession.

This is a continuing, full time position based at the Gold Coast or Nathan campus, however the successful applicant will be expected to do some teaching and / or supervision at their non-resident campus as required. Griffith is a multi-campus university and therefore it is understood that this position will work across campuses as required.

About you
The appointee will have a PhD in Law with demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in teaching and conducting research in the Law. They must have a proven ability in the administration of University courses at undergraduate levels, and be able to supervise Honours and postgraduate research candidates. The appointee will also demonstrate capacity to conduct and publish quality research, with evidence of high-quality papers and national and international impact of research with the capacity to contribute to an area of research strength in the School and to supervise higher degree research students. Further, the appointee will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and readiness to contribute to both the School and University.

Salary range
Academic Level B Base Salary $98,174 - $116,584 per annum, plus salary package including 17% employer superannuation.
