Position Description

Position Title: Administration Officer - Learning Adjustment

Reporting Relationships: Responsible to the Director of Learning Adjustment through the
Campus Learning Adjustment Leader

Position Summary:
The Administration Officer - Learning Adjustment will work under the Campus Learning Adjustment
Leader's leadership to promote quality learning for all students. The Administration Officer -
Learning Adjustment will undertake their work using high levels of accuracy, discretion and
professional judgement to support general and intervention programs directed by the Campus
Learning Adjustment Leader.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To complete a wide range of administration tasks as directed by the Campus Learning
Adjustment leader relating to students under the NCCD, New arrivals, Refugee, EAL, ATSI and
PEEPs for emergency management

  • To organise, attend, minute and appropriately store the Student Support Group meetings.
Manage the calendars of staff attending these meetings.

  • Edit and distribute minutes as directed by the Campus Learning Adjustment Leader in a timely

  • Develop and regularly update the Learning Support Officers support timetable under the
leadership of the Campus Learning Adjustment Leader

  • Monitor and maintain a database of monitoring for student progress and disability support
  • Update individual student profiles, including SIMON flagging, Common goals and PLPs
  • Maintain and file accurate records of all contact with parents and service providers.
  • Arrange Learning Support Officer support for SAC’s, exam supervision, school excursions,
overnight camps and other activities as directed or approved by the Campus Learning
Adjustment Leader and within employment conditions.

  • Support the coordination and administration of SAC’s and VCAA special provisions.
  • Allocated Purchasing Officer for the Learning Adjustment Area
  • Attend team meetings as required
  • Collect students for classes, interventions, meetings and allied health appointments as required
  • To record lesson outcomes to fulfil monitoring and evaluation requirements for student

  • To maintain a calm and caring atmosphere in the classroom for children with special needs
under the direction of the classroom teacher

  • To undertake other duties as directed by the Director of Learning Adjustment, Executive team
or Principal

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:
  • High level of competency using Microsoft programs
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Punctual and excellent time management skills
  • Ability to effectively complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Flexibility to accommodate sudden changes in duties and priorities due to the fluid nature of
demands when working with large numbers of staff and students

  • Manage, analyse and interpret data
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Certificate III in Education Support (desirable but not essential)
  • Working knowledge of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) for students with
Disabilities is advantageous

  • A complete understanding of Child Safety requirements at the College and will ensure that
learning adjustment programs promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children

  • Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with students, families,
school staff and other services

  • Reflect the values, beliefs and attitudes of the College
  • Commitment to occupational health and safety
  • Understand and follow relevant College policy and government legislation, e.g. Privacy Policy.
  • An understanding of and commitment to Catholic education
