Full Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Communications and Media, the Communications Manager will be focused on innovating Swinburne’s communications and engagement to be digitally-enabled, reputation enhancing and driving Swinburne’s strategic agenda.

This is a pivotal strategic position will focus on positively shaping perceptions and build pride for our staff, students and external stakeholders in areas of strategic importance to Swinburne through advocacy, relationships and external engagement.

You will be responsible for developing innovative, engaging and purposeful communications strategies across traditional and emerging media, internal channels and social media.

Your specialised communications talents will be used to identify opportunities and develop plans to reach and influence staff, students, partners and stakeholders.

Your ability to build strong collaborative relationships with colleagues across the university will see you contribute to achieving our shared vision people and technology working together to build a better world.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:
  • Tertiary qualification and substantial relevant experience in corporate communications, PR, media or a related field.
  • Demonstrated excellence in developing, executing and reporting on creative, results-driven communications strategies that support organisational goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing the production and distribution of innovative, engaging and purposeful content for internal, external and social channels.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, influence where appropriate and deliver excellent, measurable communications outcomes.
