The Opportunity

The Faculty of Medicine is delighted to be recruiting up to eight Level B or C research-focused academics to join our research enterprise on prestigious five year research fellowships. Applicants from both within and outside of UQ are encouraged to apply and successful applicants will be granted start-up funds and provided with opportunities to teach. Priority will be given to those who can demonstrate alignment to our current research strengths across the Faculty of Medicine's Schools, Centres and Institutes.

The Offer

These research-focused appointments will be fixed-term for five years and will be made at Academic Research Level B or C, commensurate with experience.

The full-time equivalent base salary at Level B will be in the range $99,542 - $118,206, plus super of up to 17% (the total FTE package will be in the range $116,465 - $138,301).

The full-time equivalent base salary at Level C will be in the range of $121,939 – $140,603 plus super of up to 17% (total FTE package available will be in the range of $142,669 - $164,506).

The Academic Environment

The University of Queensland’s Faculty of Medicine is an internationally recognised provider of world-class education and research. The research-intensive Faculty has a gross budget of $330 million of the total $2.0B UQ budget. The Faculty employs over 1000 of the 6,600 UQ staff total, with a community of more than 4,200 non-salaried academic appointees and around 3,200 students.

The Faculty of Medicine offers Australia’s largest medical degree program for graduates and school-leavers. Undergraduate and postgraduate programs are available in the disciplines of Medicine, Health Sciences, E-Health, Mental Health, Biomedical Sciences and Public Health.

The Faculty possesses enormous strengths spanning research, teaching, industry engagement and clinical practice in disciplines ranging from the basic sciences, biomedical research, and development, to clinical trials and public health.
