Salvado Catholic College is a growing coeducational Catholic College in Byford that commenced in 2016. The College patron, Dom Rosendo Salvado was an inspirational missionary, educator, Bishop and pioneer colonist who founded the community of New Norcia. The motto “Peace, Justice, Compassion” directly reflects Salvado’s life work and what we all aspire to in our Catholic College community. In 2021 we will have over 500 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 7. The College will continue to grow to reach its ultimate capacity as a K-12 College with the first intake of Year 7 students commencing in 2021.
The Salvado Catholic College community enjoys a strong relationship with the St Francis Xavier Armadale Parish and promotes engagement with families within the Salvado Catholic College community to further enhance a positive home/school partnership. The innovatively designed buildings complement our focus on collaborative and flexible learning spaces which support best practice and contemporary teaching and learning approaches. The start date will be negotiated with the successful applicant, but we are seeking the candidate to commence as soon as possible.

Selection Criteria

  • Commitment to the objectives and ethos of Catholic education.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • A service mind-set so that the Catholic Schools in Western Australia are provided with the service standards necessary to achieve their development objectives within system priorities and accountabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience of working effectively within teams to achieve objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, to prioritise work, take initiative and meet deadlines.
  • Extensive experience in bookkeeping.
  • Experience in financial procedures including accounts receivable, accounts payable, preparation of Business Activity Statements, and general ledger processing.
  • Sound knowledge and demonstrated ability of relevant accrual accounting practices.
  • Competent level of computer skills and knowledge including experience in financial programs, Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet Applications.
  • Demonstrate the capacity and enthusiasm to build community in a new Catholic College in collaboration with staff, parents, students and Parish.
Qualifications Required
  • Financial Training and/or Experience
  • Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School (or working towards / be prepared to acquire)
Highly Desirable
  • A relevant qualification in Accounting, Business or a related field would be an advantage, but isnot essential.
  • Experience with Administration of Schools (AoS)
  • Experience in a school environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.
