The Manager, Cultural Institutions works strategically and collaboratively to provide high level, state-wide leadership that ensures the provision of quality, timely educational and learning improvement services for teachers and students participating in programs in major state public organisations.The position is responsible for ensuring that the development of resources and programs by cultural institutions are aligned to the Australian Curriculum, the SACE and other curriculum priorities using the unique resources and expertise of the host organisations, and provides effective state-wide leadership to the education managers in host organisations across the state to ensure the effective implementation of curriculum, including the development of digital resources.
The Manager, Cultural Institutions will undertake high level liaison and negotiation with senior officers and officials in host organisations to ensure an appropriate fit between the organisation’s objectives and the department’s goals for provision of consultation services with stakeholder groups, to identify needs and respond strategically to them.
The position will also be required to provide high level leadership for the suite of Outreach Education partner organisations ensuring coordination between their work and that of other Curriculum and Learning teams, and ensure high quality and timely policy advice concerning the progress of cultural institution stakeholders is provided as required to the Minister, Chief Executive and Executive Director, Curriculum and Learning.

Essential Qualifications
An appropriate tertiary qualification in education related field.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a current full teacher registration to teach in South Australia.

If not permanent with the Education Department, applicants must meet the department’s minimum employment requirements before taking up an appointment.

Minimum departmental employment requirements for teachers include recognised teaching qualifications and registration as a teacher in South Australia and, in addition, for all applicants who are not permanent teachers with the department will include an active on-line application in the Employable Teacher Register (ETR), a cleared Education Department Employment Declaration, Australian residency or current work permit, Reporting Abuse and Neglect training (previously known as Mandatory Notification), and an approved First Aid Certificate.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department of Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. A current DHS child-related employment screening will be recognised as a WWCC until it expires. The incumbent will be required to undertake Responding to Abuse & Neglect (RAN) full day/online training course every three years. Requirements

Remuneration
STL3 - $127,921 per annum
