The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences includes the professional disciplines of Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Speech Pathology. Undergraduate programs are available in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Pathology with graduate entry programs available in all disciplines. Students gain supervised professional experience as part of their academic program and graduates are ready for immediate entry to their profession on completion of their degree. Each of the undergraduate degree programs is of four years’ duration and includes both preclinical and clinical study offered in an integrated way. All of our programs place considerable emphasis on problem solving and diagnostic decision-making and students are guided in the processes of systematic and holistic assessment and the selection and effective implementation of management approaches. Each discipline prepares students to operate within the health, education and related systems and to contribute meaningfully to teams. There is an emphasis on interprofessional education and research in the School.

All disciplines within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences are active in research and are making significant contributions to the advancement of knowledge in their professions. About This Opportunity

An opportunity exists for an experienced physiotherapist to contribute to the professional education of undergraduate, graduate-entry and postgraduate Physiotherapy students. Utilising your recent professional practice and advanced knowledge in this space, you will supervise students in clinical, preclinical and practical settings. You will provide high quality clinical education and contribute to the development of new models of clinical supervision that support student learning, as well as consult with students regarding their integrated learning to monitor and evaluate their development of clinical skills.

This position is primarily located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, however may involve work at other sites as required. Some support services and/or events outside normal business hours may occasionally be required.

Our Ideal Candidate

Along with an undergraduate/graduate-entry degree in Physiotherapy, you will hold at least 4 years subsequent relevant and recent experience. Your advanced knowledge gives you the ability to deliver evidence based clinical practice in the area of Musculoskeletal and/or Sports Physiotherapy in a broad range of clinical environments. Your strong interpersonal skills gives you the ability to not only be an effective educator and communicator, but also allows you to establish and maintain effective relationships both within the university and at the wider community level. Finally, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to develop and implement innovative methods of instruction to enhance clinical skills and knowledge development of physiotherapy students.

It is a condition of employment for this role that you will be required to provide evidence of:

  • Immunisation against certain vaccine preventable diseases;
  • First aid and CPR certification;
  • Registration with AHPRA;
  • Eligibility for a Medicare Provider Number; and
  • Unrestricted work rights in Australia for the length of this appointment.

What We Can Offer

This is a part-time (0.4FTE), fixed term position for 2 years at HEW level 7. To best support both our clinic and our students, this position is required to be worked over two days, preferably Wednesday and Friday.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $88,763 - $96,783, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $103,852 - $113,236.
