The Role
We are seeking a Tutor Support Officer to join our team of dedicated educators at Brighton to support students who have individual needs.
Duties
Complete weekly student notes
Implement activities that will support the individual needs of the students
Develop an understanding of the specific needs of the students and the supports that they require
Provide feedback to the class teacher and Individual Needs Adviser about how the students are coping with the activities, their general learning behaviours and any other observations
Reinforce the teacher’s instructions and keep the students on task
Offer individual support to enable the students to develop specific skills
Accompany the students on excursions, if requested
Attend staff briefings and campus staff meetings
Attend compulsory professional development programs (first aid training, anaphylaxis training)
Skills & Experience
Must have experience working with children and a Working With Children Check Card
Demonstrated knowledge of working with students with individual needs
Excellent verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills
Basic computer skills
Time-management skills
