Overview Of The Position
The successful applicant will need to have experience as an assistant in a Home Economics Department in a secondary school. In addition, they will need to be able to successfully work as part of a team within a busy department, show flexibility and be able to meet deadlines. The working hours are Monday 7.45am to 3.30pm, Tuesday 7.45am to 3.45pm and every second Wednesday 8.00am to 12.15pm. Monday and Tuesday will include a ½ hour unpaid lunch break.
Commencement Date
The successful applicant will commence on Monday 19 April, 2021.
Conditions Of Employment
The employer of staff at Mercedes College is Mercy Education Limited and employment is subject to the terms and conditions of The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Perth Non-Teaching Staff Enterprise Bargaining Agreement 2014 and the Catholic Education Commission of Western Australia Policy Statements and school based policy statements.

Essential Criteria
Selection Criteria:
- Support for the ethos, values and mission of the College
- A current Working with Children Check
- Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School or preparedness to work towards it
- Collating and ordering food from suppliers
- Measuring and setting up food and required equipment for demonstration and practical foods lessons
- Assisting and supporting practical lessons in the department when required
- Cleaning up at the end of teacher demonstrations and practical lessons
- Weekly check and tidy of student work units
- Organisation of preparation area
- Washing of linen
- Photocopying when required
- End of term cleaning of Home Economics rooms
- Other duties as requested
