Haileybury Rendall School is seeking a Co-ordinator of Outdoor Education & School Activities. This is a fulltime, permanent commencing 19 April 2021.

Responsibilities:

This new role at Haileybury Rendall School reflects a steady increase in student numbers and consequently the need to offer a far wider range of extra-curricular activities, outdoor experiences, trips and tours.

This will be a multi-faceted, dynamic and rewarding role for an educator interested in the value of all student activities that occur outside the classroom and complement learning as part of a holistic world class education.

Key Selection Criteria:

Qualifications/Experience in the following areas would be a distinct advantage:

  • Co-ordinating and running multi-faceted activity programs
  • Teaching Accreditation
  • Group leading experience in student-centred outdoor environments
  • Activities and/or extra-curricular programs in an educational context
  • Ability to lead, manage and be a part of effective teams
  • Initiative in identifying appropriate activities to complement the program
  • Risk and compliance
  • Ability to work with a range of staff in different situations
  • Hard skills/technical qualifications within:
  • Abseiling/ rock climbing
  • Canoe/ kayak
  • Bushwalking
  • Mountain biking experience
  • Bronze Medallion or lifesaving
Qualifications:
  • Wilderness/Remote Area First Aid qualification or equivalent.
  • Diploma or Degree especially in Teaching or Outdoor Education/Recreation.
  • Driver’s license (manual preferred).
  • Bus license.
  • Boat license.
