The Opportunity

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from candidates interested in a taking on the role of Program Manager for the LifeFlight Trauma Training Program. LifeFlight Trauma Training is an education program based in Queensland that aims to empower members of the community who unexpectedly find themselves the first on scene at a traumatic incident, giving them the skills that could provide immediate beneficial care in preparation for the arrival of emergency services resulting in better patient outcomes.

The Program will be operated in conjunction with the RFDS (Qld Section) as our Program Partner.

This is a full-time position with some weekend work required. Based at the LifeFlight training academy at Brisbane Airport.

The Program Manager will be responsible for the oversight of the Training Program being conducted in multiple regional locations, ensuing the program remains sound and consistent with our desire to be recognised as the provider of choice for aeromedical services across the state. This all-encompassing role includes exercising responsibility for the day to day operations of the program, staff leadership, quality & compliance, and the achievement of enrolment targets. To ensure connection to the community in the region is established and maintained, the role also requires active research into all relevant aspects of the regional communities through public source information channels and direct interface.

The Program Manager will also work closely with our Program Partners, the RFDS (Qld Section).

Role Requirements

Whilst being hands on leading a small but dedicated team of trainers and administrators, you will also need to get ‘the big picture’ and have the ability to engage with our local community. The ability to balance many priorities will be key to your success, as will the ability to demonstrate a key knowledge of practical experience in delivering similar community education programs.

Furthermore, to be successful you will need;


  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116).
  • Provision of high level of leadership and strategic direction to staff in the delivery of a clinical or community training program.
  • Clinical and first responder experience commensurate with the training being delivered. (both accredited and non accredited first aid courses including or exceeding HLTAID006 - Provide advanced first aid)
  • Demonstrated reliability in meeting deadlines and commitments, with an ability to set realistic goals, problem-solve and establish work priorities.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in training coordination/course design
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully market training programs with highly developed influencing and persuasion skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Training Services practices, procedures and systems and a working knowledge of Government contracts.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels.


  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to the position.
