Full Job Description
Applications are invited for the post of Firearms Instructor within the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit, based at the Tactical Training Centre (TTC), Urlay Nook.

You will be responsible for the design, delivery and evaluation of national and local firearms training programmes in strict accordance with the National Police Firearms Training Curriculum. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic candidate with a proven track record of training delivery across multiple demanding Police firearms disciplines, including the ARV, HPVE, OFC and advanced trauma medicine.

The successful candidate will be expected to work from TTC Urlay Nook. Some travel may be involved and delivery or personal CPD at other firearms training sites is a distinct possibility.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their communication skills in a forward thinking and progressive training environment where the contribution of all, students and staff alike, is valued and innovative thinking is vital to enable TTC remains as one of the best performing firearms training centres in the country.

Applicants must possess a Level 3 Certificate in Education and Training/ BTEC Higher or equivalent, Certificate in Teaching & Training. Applicants must also be a current accredited national firearms instructor. A minimum of IOSH Managing Safety Qualification is also required.
