ISSP Project Officer

Based in Launceston.
Engage with local and regional Tasmanian Aboriginal groups for support of the program.

The Australian Maritime College is the national institute for maritime education, training and research. AMC is one of the seven founding members of the International Association of Maritime Universities, which represents five continents.

The Opportunity

The ISSP Project Officer will develop a program of activity to engage and prepare Indigenous students to enrol in a maritime course of study. The successful applicant will conduct analysis to determine how AMC can become an appealing choice for maritime studies for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and increase their participation in post-secondary training and education.

This is an Identified Position. Applicants must be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person to be considered for this role. Key Accountabilities:
Identify appropriate and relevant program components for AMC experiential learning activities, such as: On-campus student support, Riawunna Centre, library, accommodation, catering and logistical requirements.
Identify resourcing required for program implementation.
Make recommendations on length of program, frequency of evolutions, minimum/maximum number of participants, program marketing.
Develop detailed program plan.
Develop a quality system to ensure ongoing review and improvement of program plan.

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

Proven written and oral communication skills.
Project Manager experience within similar programs.
Proven IT skills using a range of software programs.
