The Australian National University's newly established , is a joint facility of the (RSPhys) and (RSAA). The Research School of Physics represents Australia's largest university- based research and teaching activity in the physics discipline. The Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics is a world-respected astronomy and astrophysics research institute that operates Australia's largest optical observatory. The Centre encompasses all aspects of gravitational wave physics and astrophysics, including instrumentation, theory and data analysis, source follow-up and multi-messenger astronomy. It will bring together existing ANU researchers in these areas under one umbrella.

The position is based in the Centre for Gravitational Astrophysics.

We are seeking inspirational scientific leaders with equity agendas from any area of research covered by the Centre, who can grow ANU's leadership across all areas of gravitational wave astronomy.

To excel in this role, you will have:
  • A strong track record in any areas related to gravitational wave research
  • A strong track record in leading research teams at national and international levels
  • An agenda for promoting equity and diversity and positive culture in workplace
