About the College and role

The College of Vocational Education (VE) empowers our learners and partners to succeed in the new world of work. Our vision is to position RMIT as a leading multi-sector university, providing integrated learning pathways, unrivalled industry connectivity, with global impact and influence.

The Women in STEM Engagement Coordinator will oversee and implement all activities relating to the RMIT Women in STEM initiatives with a strong focus on Vocation Education engagement and promotion.

The position's primary purpose is to increase the College's engagement with underrepresented groups in STEM fields, including people from Low SES and regional backgrounds, women and Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders.

This role will promote STEM in secondary schools through collaborative programs bringing together school teachers and students, industry and RMIT students and staff.

About you

You will have a demonstrated commitment to advancing women in STEM education and careers with experience in developing and implementing engagement and educational outreach activities

Key to the role will be your experience working with diverse stakeholder groups and to influence and negotiate to effectively drive engagement with STEM programs. You will have strong project management skills including the capacity to initiate and assist in continuous improvement in a dynamic environment and to provide strategic advice and support to senior management.

In addition, you will bring to the role your excellent interpersonal, engagement and communication skills, and capacity to build and maintain productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external groups.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have qualifications in engagement or program development or equivalent desirable or in STEM related field would be advantageous
