St Hilda’s School is owned by the Diocese of Brisbane and the School Council is appointed by the Archbishop in Council. The major functions of the School Council are the appointment of the School Principal, the fixing of the annual budget and the fixing of school policy. The Principal, in the role of Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day running of the School. All staff are responsible for carrying out their duties.

Administration Support Officer

Full Time (including school holiday periods)

7.30am - 3.30pm

We are currently seeking to appoint a professional administrator with a strong customer service focus.

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
Use an ‘office suite’ computer based application at an advanced level.
Use TASS computer based application at an advanced level.
Data entry and use of proprietary applications at a higher level of skill than level 2. (Examples may include: modify database fields of information; develop new databases or spreadsheet models; graph previously prepared spreadsheets).
Provide a high-level administrative support to school management. (Examples may include: minute taking; organising appointments and diaries; handling correspondence; monitoring phone calls; establishing and maintaining working filing system; answer non-standard executive correspondence; prepare papers, briefing notes, or other written material from verbal or rough handwritten instructions). This includes:
Working to maintain accurate and efficient administration
Providing professional reception services in the School
Ability to operate and routine operator maintenance of office equipment such as: photocopier; printers; laminating or binding equipment;
Assist in events involving new families and students
Tours of the campus to prospective families and students
Assist with International Student administration
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following selection criteria:
Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
A professional, confident and helpful approach
Ability to work autonomously and prioritise effectively
Excellent organisational skills and high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Ability to problem solve and resolve customer concerns
Ability to communicate sensitively and confidentially with stakeholders
Typing speed minimum 70 words per minute
Minimum 3 years experience in Customer Service is essential
Prior experience in School Administration is an advantage
Prior experience with database maintenance is essential
Minimum Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills
