Cafe/Retail Cook (Sydney)

  • Part Time 19 hours per week
  • Salary $26,211 p.a. (Full Time Equivalent Salary $52,422 p.a.)

William Angliss Institute is the Government endorsed specialist training provider for the foods, tourism, hospitality and events industries and is recognised as Australia’s leading provider of training for these key industry sectors. The Institute aims to provide excellent vocational education and training services for industry, students and government in Victoria, Australia and internationally.

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Retail Cook to join the Sydney Campus on a part time (19 hours a week), fixed term basis until December 2021.

The Campus has two retail food outlets known as Café Imparo and the Rubric Student Training Restaurant. Both outlets are located in Alexandria NSW and have a commercial focus where the menu is aligned to the curriculum, learning outcomes and the student assessments tasks for external and internal customers. The main emphasis for all the areas is on quality customer service and profitability equal to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food production, preparation and presentation for the retail outlets.
  • Assist with the development of menu items & presentation standards.
  • Provide quality customer service to clients, both internal and external.
  • Display and service of food and beverage of the designated business

Key Selection Criteria: * Must have a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or possess equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with food preparation, food handling in a café kitchen environment
  • Have knowledge of Food Safety Standards and a current Food Handlers Certificate or be willing to obtain one at your own expense
  • Ability to work within a team environment and as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with customers in a retail environment..
  • Demonstrated awareness and knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
  • Demonstrated behaviours that align with the William Angliss Institute Values
A current National Police Check and NSW Working with Children Check is required prior to commencement.
