About the Job
As our new Senior Technical Officer you will be responsible for supporting research activities within the Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology, School of Science Swinburne University. The successful candidate will have a background in Chemistry with experience in analytical instrumentation. The Senior Technical Officer is required to have sound scientific laboratory skills together with a hands-on approach to laboratory management and experience in working with interdisciplinary teams.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
  • An Undergraduate Science Degree (Chemistry preferable) and subsequent relevant experience in research.
  • Extensive experience in laboratory operations, following SOP’s and safety polices.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the operation of a wide range of analytical equipment specifically NMR, Chromatography and Mass Spectometry.
  • Extensive experience in chemical management in relation to technical and laboratory operations, including an understanding of statutory requirements associated with
chemical hazards.
