  • Part time (21 hours/week) Fixed term for 4 months
  • Level 5: $75K-85K Plus superannuation and leave loading (Pro-rata)

The Research Assistant will be the primary point of contact for a national project (M-PREM) with collaboration between UNSW and University of Queensland for a longitudinal women’s health project. The Research Assistant will be collecting simple clinical data (e.g. blood pressure, height, weight), questionnaire information and must have phlebotomy skills for blood sample collection. Liaison between clinical site, laboratory and central UQ hub will be required.

The Research Assistant will be part of the research team based out of University of Queensland.

Skills And Experience
  • A degree in Science, Medicine, Health Science, or a related discipline or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training or experience.
  • Certificate III in Pathology Collection (or relevant experience).
  • Demonstrated an understanding of research methodology with previous experience in a research related role, in either a clinical research setting or with patient groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with an ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality, and an aptitude to show understanding of the issues faced by patients and families.
  • Proven initiative and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to work both independently and part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven experience with word processing, data management and statistical software would be beneficial (but not essential).
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.

You maybe required to work on Saturdays.
