The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a Research Officer to join the Department of Medicine within the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health. The purpose of this position is to provide a variety of high-quality services to support and assist the operations of the research of the Autoimmune Kidney Disease and Vasculitis Research group. This includes undertaking and performing experiments, generating experimental endpoints by performing and assisting in a range of assays (including flow cytometry, ELISAs and ELISPOTs, biochemical assays, histology and immunohistochemistry and molecular biological endpoints), looking after key research reagents, processing and curating human samples, assisting other researchers, research administration, ordering, planning and scheduling, while ensuring a compliant and safe research environment.

The Role

The ideal candidate will keep abreast of developments, activities and protocols in their area of expertise, comply with established research methodology, policy, protocols, OHS and regulatory requirements and participating in and implementing continuous improvement activities relating to project, research or technical procedures and quality assurance standards.

About You

As the successful applicant, you will have a tertiary qualification in a relevant field or subsequent relevant skills and work experience in histology and immunohistochemistry and experience in flow cytometry and other immunoassays. You will possess strong organisational skills with the ability to set priorities, demonstrated project administration skills, strong attention to detail and have well-developed communication skills.
