  • Open to Australian Aboriginal peoples and UniSA employees only
  • Full-time, fixed term contract until 22 April 2022 based in the Student Engagement Unit at City West campus
  • Salary range: $88,634 - $99, 510 per annum (plus superannuation)

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager: Student Life, the Coordinator: Communications and Events position will lead the development of the SEU’s student communication plan, and project manage the development and delivery of a range of innovative and dynamic student facing events and campaigns with a key focus on the University’s orientation program. This position provides strategic leadership and expertise within SEU and to campus-based student experience and orientation staff about best practice models, tools, platforms and social media.

Core Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement the Communication Strategy, and Events and Activities Plan for the whole of SEU aimed at increasing student engagement in University Life and with SEU services
  • Manage and support the Communications and Events teams by providing leadership and guidance while fostering a culture of innovation
  • Manage the development, implementation and review of the Unit’s promotion and communications collateral, in liaison with CMK, ensuring elements adhere to the University’s brand guidelines. Work with the Manager: Student Life to develop and implement a student employment and volunteering strategy

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in communications, event management or disciplines relevant to the position
  • Highly developed organisational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and management of integrated communication plans
  • Strong high level interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills
