About This Opportunity

A newly created role has become available to lead and manage the strategic operations of the Faculty of Business, Economic and Law research entities, the Centre for Business and Economics of Health and the Australian Institute for Business and Economics. The position works in close partnership with the entity Directors and Faculty Associate Dean (Research) to support key strategic partnerships, implement organisational initiatives, and enable the research vision of the entities.


Your role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain key strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including representing and managing the Institute’s position on legal contracts and intellectual property issues.
  • Coordinate the development of major funding bids, with support from the Research Partnership Manager and the planning and implementation of strategic stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Monitor and report on progress against strategic and operational KPIs, milestones, and other requirements within external funding agreements
  • Manage the research entities’ budgets and related financial processes.


This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Our Ideal Candidate

In addition to extensive experience in senior management positions and a demonstrated ability to deliver on the accountabilities of this position, you should possess postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Prior experience in the financial and operational management of a complex organisation, ideally in a research and development environment is essential to the role. You should also be able to demonstrate the ability to contribute to strategic planning and implementation and demonstrate a commitment to upholding the University’s values, and with the outstanding personal qualities of openness, respectfulness and integrity.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position for up to two (2) years at Professional level 9.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $117,548.77 - $124,391.32, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $137,532.05 - $145,537.84.
