JOB DESCRIPTION

The University of Southern Queensland has forged a reputation as a strong performer in the Australian higher education sector, and is recognised for its outstanding performance in graduate employment, student support and social equity, and commitment to undertaking world-leading research. In just over 50 years, USQ has established its position as a prominent teaching and research institution providing education worldwide from three physical locations (Toowoomba, Springfield and Ipswich) as well as an extensive online presence.

The School of Civil Engineering and Surveying is a leading provider of engineering, construction, urban and regional planning and surveying programs in Australia and overseas. An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for an accomplished academic to contribute to the ongoing expansion of USQ’s courses in construction project management and construction engineering, and substantially contribute to the design, development and delivery of new courses to be offered in the proposed Master of Construction Project Management. You will provide high quality teaching and research, supervise final year honours project students, masters and doctoral students, and develop and implement construction management education innovations to access potential new construction management education markets.

In addition to your relevant tertiary qualifications in a construction management related discipline, key to your success in this role will be your ability to work collaboratively and collegially with fellow academics, professional staff and a range of external stakeholders in order to contribute to the establishment and ongoing development of undergraduate and postgraduate construction management programs. Your capacity to grow and strengthen high-level linkages with industry and professional bodies will ensure ongoing professional relevance of awards, access to suitable student experiences, and the facilitation of partnerships in applied research. An ability to develop and deliver high quality, multi-mode teaching to a diverse range of students will be pivotal in this role.

The position may be required to teach at both Springfield and Toowoomba Campuses.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled team who are committed to providing a flexible and supportive learning environment which will prepare our graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in their professional career.
