Multiple Learning Guide opportunities available on a casual basis, immediate start
Hourly rate $36.40 + 9.5% super

Preference will be given to applicants who have:
Experience leading a group of learners in: parenting class, casual conversation, employability skills, including Three Steps, Digital skills, horticulture and Civics and Citizenship
Bilingual language skills, particularly Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, Burmese and Dari
Lead a group of learners in ACFE classes in the Western suburbs
Positions are based at Footscray but will work in an outreach capacity across the Western Hub
About the position

Proactively engage, guide and support individual clients to achieve learning outcomes, through the delivery of the relevant funded Program (such as ACFE). Experience leading a group of learners in: parenting class; casual conversation; employability skills, including Three Steps; Digital skills; horticulture; and Civics and Citizenship, is essential for success. Preference will be given to applicants with bilingual language skills in English and one of the following: Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, Burmese or Dari.

To be considered for one of these positions, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:

At least two years' experience delivering information or training in formal and/or informal environments to clients from a CALD background
A current Working With Children Check (Employee)
Ability to be flexible and able to work in a variety of educational contexts : one-on -one, small or medium sized groups; formal or informal; and with a range of language abilities and people from different cultural backgrounds
Ability to think on one's feet is critical and able to keep a level head when busy
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to treat potential program participants with empathy and sensitivity in a medical environment, and to work with clients from a strengths-based approach
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated capacity to respond flexibly to changing program requirements and individual client needs
Excellent time management and organisational skills
High level of professionalism appropriate to the requirements of the role
Understanding of settlement issues and sound knowledge of services relevant to newly arrived communities
Demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with a range of stakeholders
Demonstrated capacity to work independently, be highly accountable, as well as being able to work collaboratively and cooperatively as part of a diverse team in a busy off-site environment
Sound IT skills and confidence utilising digital resources
Experience meeting strict program, regulations and standards requirements
Demonstrated commitment to values of integrity, reliability, teamwork and professionalism consistent with the AMES Australia Vision and Mission
Experience working with newly arrived individuals, families and associated stakeholders is desirable
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable
